For 10 years, the DC Shorts Film Festival and Screenplay Competition has screened the world’s top short films to audiences throughout the region. This year, we will showcase over 153 films from 23 nations — including the country’s largest collection of short films by emerging Russian filmmakers. Hundreds of filmmakers and thousands of audience members will gather to mix, mingle and explore the art of short cinema.

The Venues

E STREET CINEMA

Corner of 11th and E Streets NW, Washington, DC

The Penn Quarter neighborhood of DC has become the entertainment jewel of the city, filled with theaters, museums, clubs and restaurants for all to enjoy.

Metro

The theater is located 2 blocks from the Metro Center station and 4 blocks from the Gallery Place station. This area is also served by Circulator buses at stops within blocks of the theater.

Driving

Landmark will validate parking for 3 hours at the reduced rate of $10 after 5:00 on weekdays and all day on weekends at the garage adjacent to the theater (entrance at 11th between E and F Streets). In addition, limited metered street parking is available.

Biking

There is a bike rack in front of the theater. In addition, if you are a member of Capital Bikeshare, there is a station at 10th and Constitution Ave. — a block away.

701 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC

In the heart of Penn Quarter, the U.S. Navy Memorial Heritage Center’s 240-seat theater offers pristine HD projection and unparalleled sound.

Metro/Walking

The U.S. Navy Memorial is located above the Archives/Penn Quarter Metro station. Exit the station, turn right and follow the curve of the sidewalk until you see the entrance. You must enter from the Plaza — there is no access from 7th Street. The theater is also served by the Circulator bus.

Driving

There is no garage parking available at this location. Limited metered street parking is available, and garages are located throughout the neighborhood.

Biking

There is a Capital Bikeshare rack a block away from the theater at 7th Street and Indiana Avenue.

ANGELIKA FILM CENTER & CAFE AT MOSAIC

2911 District Ave, Lee Highway & Gallows Road, Fairfax, VA

The new Mosaic is the DC area’s most innovative retail destination. Discover Mosaic’s carefully selected mix of the finest local fashion boutiques and restaurants coupled with premier national retailers and entertainers.

Metro

The theater is located 3 blocks (10-minute walk) from the Dunn Loring Metro station.

Driving

There is plenty of FREE parking available at the theater.

ATLAS PERFORMING ARTS CENTER

1333 H Street NE, Washington, DC

The H Street corridor has seen a great deal of development over the past few years. The neighborhood now boasts some of the city’s best restaurants and is home to incredible nightlife.

Metrobus

The famed X2 cross-town bus picks up at Gallery Place and drops off in front of the Atlas Theater every 15–20 minutes. Metrobus costs $1.80 cash or $1.60 when you use your SmartTrip card.

Driving

The Atlas has arranged for limited off-street parking across H Street from the theater. Parking is $10, cash only. Please look for the DC Shorts volunteers on the sidewalk to assist you with parking your car. In addition, there is also metered street parking.

Biking

There is a bike rack in front of the theater. In addition, if you are a member of Capital Bikeshare, there is a station at 13th and H Streets, NE — on the same block as the Atlas Theater.

VISARTS AT ROCKVILLE

155 Gibbs Street, Rockville, MD

Smack in the middle of Rockville Town Square, VisArts is a dynamic, non-profit arts center dedicated to engaging the community in the arts and providing opportunities for artistic exploration, education and participation.

Metro/Walking

VisArts is located three blocks from the Rockville Metro station. Exit towards Rockville Center, take the stairs to the overpass, and follow until you see the parking lot for the Regal Cinema Rockville. Turn right and look for the Town Square. VisArts is located behind the center square.

Driving

Notice: Gibbs Street, where VisArts is located, is a new street and will not appear on most GPS systems. For GPS driving directions, please use 200 East Middle Lane, Rockville, MD 20850.

Parking

VisArts will validate parking for the first two hours. You will find the validation kiosk inside the VisArts administration offices located on the 3rd floor. Please do not park in the Bank of America lot on Beall Ave. You will be towed! For parking information, please see the website for the Rockville Town Square.

ANACOSTIA ARTS CENTER

1231 Good Hope Road, SE, Washington, DC

The Anacostia Arts Center includes a Black Box Theater, galleries/boutiques, the Nurish café, and a lounge area in Historic Anacostia.

Metro/Walking

AAC is located 6 blocks from the Anacostia Metro station.

Biking

There is a bike rack in front of the center. In addition, if you are a member of Capital Bikeshare, there is a station across the street.

Parking

Free parking is available in the lot across the street.
