DC Shorts proudly presents the largest collection of short films by emerging Russian filmmakers to ever screen in the United States.
Every year, we receive hundreds of films from around the globe — but never any from the Russian Federation. Through partnerships with the Moscow Film Festival and Shar Film School, we have curated 16 films — comedies, dramas, experimental and animation — that highlight the storytelling of Russia’s emerging filmmakers.
These films are programmed throughout the festival — look for a nested doll next to the title.
This program is funded in part by a generous grant from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
